FledglingMusic.com is a partnership. It is run by
husband
and wife Kate and Conrad with the aim being to
bring ethical
practices to an industry that is cutthroat and
often maligned.
As an emerging or established musician, or as a
music
buyer, have you ever wondered where all the money
spent
on CDs goes? Well not to the artist, but to the
ranks of
business people, talent scouts, marketing staff,
lawyers and everyone else who makes up a record label. We want to try
to change this, by rewarding the artist, while at the same time
providing an honest money making business.
Kate is a fully trained Graphic Designer, whose
early foray into the world of advertising left her feeling empty, and
thus she rebelled against it, refusing to 'sell over-priced rubbish' to
people who could not afford it'. It was one of Kate's graduate
assignments that led to the original concept of selective music
purchasing. Conrad is a frustrated musician, being musically inept. He
is also a computer programmer, and DJs part time. He's basically the
real brains' of the operation, using his passion and instinct for music
to make FledglingMusic.com a reality.
FledglingMusic.com will be the source for emerging
artists to sell their recordings. We welcome submissions from anyone,
playing any type of music, as long as you own the rights to that music.
We want to help emerging artists get heard and
paid, and we have no interest in becoming a record label. While we are
more than happy to do the hard work of making all the tracks available,
we ask that the artists do their fair share as well, promoting the site
as they see fit, since you only get paid when your tracks are
requested. There will be an advertising package containing flyer, web
banner, sticker, business card and miscellaneous advertising items
available by request to help you do this.
If you are unhappy at any time with
FledglingMusic.com, please contact us via e-mail, and we will do
all we can to correct the issue, if you feel that
we are not living up to our part simply request that we remove your
material from the site, and we will do so within 3 business days of
receiving the request.
