01: What is FledglingMusic.com?
FledglingMusic.com is an online music store unlike
any other.
We allow our customers to request your tracks be
recorded onto their custom made CD. We set the CD up, record it and
deliver it to the customer, and the big news is that for every song
selected, the artist is paid.
02: How does it work?
You choose to use our service and submit a CD with
your tracks on it. Along with that you submit a signed and dated copy
of the Release Letter, any special information that we need to
know, including a payment address, and a short bio of you. We hold the
media on a secure server, place your music in our easily searchable
directory, and allow customers to select your tracks for inclusion on
their own cds.
03: What do I gain from the service?
Exposure and money! For every track that is
requested, you will receive 30 pence (roughly 45 cents US).
04: How much does it cost me?
The cost of 1 CD of your music and the postage to
us.
05: Why should I bother using FledglingMusic.com?
Why not, it is exposure to an audience who may not
be able to see you play live. You may also be in an established band,
but wish to promote some of your solo creations or non released tracks,
which we are more than happy to feature.
06: How will I know that my payment is accurate?
Each invoice will list the total number of requests,
by track, from there on it is simple maths. If you ever wish to see a
full breakdown of the payment notice, please let us know, and we will be
more than happy to provide a full breakdown.
07: When do I get paid?
We pay you monthly, as long as you have had at least
one track requested. As to how, at the moment we prefer to pay via Paypal since
they have tried and tested security features, and work internationally.
If you do not have access to the internet, please indicate on the
Release Letter, and we will be more than happy to send you your
payment by cheque drawn in UK funds.
08: What if I want to stop using
FledglingMusic.com?
While we don't want to lose you as an artist, we do
understand that circumstances change. Just inform us by letter that you
wish to stop using FledglingMusic.com, and we will remove your tracks
from our site the day we receive the letter, total up your final
payment and return it to you. We do reserve the right to keep the
tracks submitted to us.
09: What forms of media are accepted by
FledglingMusic.com?
We can only accept professionally created CDs at
the moment, we do not accept CDs containing mp3s, tapes or vinyl, yet.
If you have a privately created CD and wish to submit it to us, please
contact us first.
10: Why don't you want to accept mp3 files?
With the ease of CD ripping and CD piracy, how do
we know the CD has come from you? We are not in the business of
promoting audio piracy, we are in the business of promoting artists.
11: What is Intermix technology?
Intermix technolgy was developed years ago as a
college project by one of the partners in FledglingMusic.com. The
theory and technology was way ahead of its time when it was created,
but now the time is right.
12: Will FledglingMusic.com ever distribute my
music without payment?
No, never. We will include short samples of each
track we list on your dedicated web page, but they will be of a reduced
encoding quality and will never be the complete track. Any time we
distribute a track from an artist, the artist is paid.
13: Can I supply cover versions?
Hmm, tricky question. The answer is yes, but all
existing copyrights must be honoured. We at FledglingMusic are not a
team of music lawyers, and we do not condone copyright infringement
14: How can I promote FledglingMusic.com?
Many ways, word of mouth is always the best way,
tell your friends, fans and other bands. Take a copy of our banner and
place it on your site. Write about us in your blog or web group. There
will be an advertising package containing flyer, web banner, sticker,
business card and miscellaneous advertising items available by request
to help you do this. FledglingMusic.com does not encourage spamming of
any kind, and as we will never reduce ourselves to that level, we ask
that you don't.
